West Ham are reportedly poised to open contract talks with Pedro Obiang amid interest from clubs across Europe.
According to the Mirror, the Hammers are keen to discuss a new and improved deal for the Spaniard after his performances last season attracted several potential suitors.
Obiang was arguably one of West Ham’s best players last term in what was an underwhelming campaign for the club, and his quality has not gone unnoticed.
It’s claimed in the report that fellow Premier League rivals Everton are maintaining their interest in Obiang. Along with this, European giants Sevilla and AC Milan are also cited with interest.
The 25-year-old is currently on a contract with West Ham until the summer of 2019 and with two years remaining, it’s clear to see that Slaven Bilic has the former Sampdoria man placed firmly in his plans.
Obiang is a key player for the Hammers and tying him down to a new contract would be a big boost.
