West Ham target Ghezzal set to leave

French club Lyon have decided to stall talks on a new contract with West Ham target Rachid Ghezzal.

The Algerian winger has been touted with a number of clubs this summer and his contract at Lyon expires this month, meaning he’d arrive on a free transfer.

Ghezzal made 38 appearances last season across all competitions and contributed to ten goals – netting three himself and setting up seven.

Lyon have been looking to tie down a new deal with the 25-year-old in the past weeks but talks with the player are understood to have broken down.

A report from French outlet Le 10 Sport, as cited by Inside Futbol, suggests that Lyon have lost patience with Ghezzal and look likely to let him go this summer.

West Ham certainly won’t be alone in their interest though, with Arsenal, Everton and a few Italian clubs said to have Ghezzal on their radar ahead of the transfer window.
