West Ham eyeing up loan bid for Michy Batshuayi

West Ham are preparing to make a loan bid for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi this summer as they look to bolster their attacking options, according to ESPN FC.

The Belgian striker has been linked with the Hammers for a long time and was even subject to an offer from the London club prior to his transfer to Chelsea from Marseille last summer. eying

Batshuayi, 23, has struggled to break into the starting XI at Stamford Bridge and started just one game in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea are reluctant to sell Batshuayi to a rival club, but they could be open to loaning out the Belgian forward if he still finds himself on the bench.

Various clubs are monitoring Batshuayi’s situation but West Ham are confident that they can secure him on loan for next season.

Batshuayi has hit form in recent weeks by scoring the title winning goal against West Brom, before netting in his only start against Watford and then scoring a brace in the final game of the season against relegated Sunderland.

The form of Diego Costa and the transfer rumours around other strikers such as Romelu Lukaku puts Batshuayi’s place at risk for next season, which may influence his decision to join the Hammers.
