With scrutiny increasing surrounding Slaven Bilic’s long-term future at West Ham, the latest name to be mentioned in the frame for the manager’s position is Newcastle chief Rafa Benitez.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Hammers are contemplating swooping for the experienced Spaniard this summer off the back of what has been a hugely underwhelming season for Bilic and his men so far.

Benitez has been doing a superb job up north with the Magpies and looks to have led them back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, with them sat at the very top of the Championship table.
The former Liverpool and Chelsea boss is clearly happy with Newcastle but the temptation of managing a club like West Ham could prove to be something worth considering when the season comes to its close.
Two years ago, West Ham went in for Benitez but were beaten in their pursuit of the tactician by European giants Real Madrid. Perhaps they have a better chance of getting their man this time around.
