West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has hailed the fantastic work rate of his new signing, Robert Snodgrass during their win over Southampton.
As reported by the London Evening Standard, Bilic admits he was delighted with the impact the Scottish international had on his first start for his new club.
The West Ham boss said:
We knew about his left foot, we knew about his vision and his plan in his head to combine with other players and to use space and everything. But the work-rate was amazing. The work-rate was fantastic. From all the players, but if you ask me about him, definitely. When he was alone at front, when we switched to five at the back, he was brilliant.
Snodgrass joined the Hammers during the January transfer window as a direct replacement for Dimitri Payet, who returned to Ligue 1 and his former club Marseille.

After impressing for Hull in the first half of the season, Snodgrass was a target for both Hull and Crystal Palace last month but opted for a move to the London Stadium.
Bilic continued by revealing Snodgrass had surprised the club with his instant impact.
We expected that from him to be fair. Maybe not this quick but that’s why we got him. He showed that in Hull and he has continued to show that today.
The Saints scored the first goal of the season through Manolo Gabbiadini before Andy Carroll, Pedro Obiang and Mark Noble got on the scoresheet to seal all three points against a struggling Southampton.
The win moves West Ham up to ninth in the Premier League.
