Lille join West Ham in race to sign Michy Batshuayi

Lille have joined West Ham in the race to possibly take Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the season as reported by the Daily Mail.

Batshuayi has yet to start a game this term in the Premier League with his 11 appearances coming off the bench. With Diego Costa’s fine form continuing it is hard to see Batshuayi making a break through.

However, Antonio Conte has insisted that the 23-year-old Belgium international is going nowhere and is needed in London to adapt to English football.

“No. He is a new player for Chelsea, to go on loan now, is a defeat for the club and for me” he is quoted saying on boxing day. “Now it is important to be focused to improve”

“I want to win and every decision I make is because I want to win. I have to take the best decision, sometimes it is good, positive or negative but I try to put every player in the best condition.”

West Ham famously missed out on signing the Belgian striker from Marseille in the summer but remain hopeful of bringing him in on loan for the rest of the season.
