Arbeloa arrives: A look at West Ham’s other Spaniards

West Ham completed a deadline day swoop for right back Alvaro Arbeloa to conclude a busy summer of business.

The 33-year-old will provide experience and balance to the defence and be the perfect mentor for the young and eager Sam Byram. Arbeloa has vast experience, having played for Liverpool in the Premier League and Real Madrid for the past seven years in La Liga.

His sparkling career has seen him win La Liga once, two Champions League titles, two Copa del Rey titles, two European Championships and the World Cup.

The most positive thing about the Spaniard’s arrival, however, is that we should no longer see Michail Antonio at right back.

In celebration of our newest signing, I have compiled a list of all six of the West Ham players that have come from Spain. I will assess each of them, their time at West Ham and the impact they have had (or will have) for the Hammers.
