According to a report in the Express, Crystal Palace are preparing a bid for Andy Carroll should their deal for Christian Benteke fall through.
The arrivals of Jonathan Calleri and Andre Ayew in conjunction with Diafro Sakho nearing a return to training mean that Carroll may find it hard to get on the pitch a great amount in the new season.

Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Liverpool misfit Christian Benteke is entering a critical stage, and if they are unable to lure the Belgian to Selhurst Park, Alan Pardew’s interest may turn to Carroll.
Carroll, 27, has scored 16 goals in 56 appearances for the Hammers, and found himself being utilised increasingly as last season wore on.

The Englishman arrived from Liverpool prior to the 2012/13 season, and made his deal permanent ahead of the 2013/14 season, in exchange for a fee of £15 million.
