According to an emerging report from The Guardian, West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed the loan signing of Argentina international Jonathan Calleri on loan, for a fee of around £4 million.
We signed Calleri. Unfortunately for him but good for us Argentina were knocked out of the Olympics on Wednesday, they didn’t pass the group stage so he should be here with us – not today, not tomorrow, but pretty soon, depending on work permit or whatever.
We did the deal not a long time ago but not yesterday, and he is a top striker as well. You need a squad but it is also about the balance.
The deal will see the 22-year-old forward join The Hammers on a season-long loan from Uruguayan side Deportivo Maldonado.

West Ham have fended off reported interest from La Liga duo Sevilla and Barcelona to seal the deal for Calleri, as he becomes the latest attacking signing for Bilic’s squad after it was confirmed that Andre Ayew had signed from Swansea for a record transfer.

The report claims that there is a personal agreement between West ham co-owner David Sullivan and Stellar Group’s owner Jonathan Barnett, leading to the deal for Calleri being sealed.
Although there is no official confirmation from West Ham themselves as of yet, it looks as though everything is sorted and Calleri is a Hammer for the season ahead.
