How did our youngsters fare against Juventus?

The clash with Juventus marked the “official” unveiling of our new stadium and it was a tough test against one of the world’s best club sides.

After battling heroically, we eventually lost the game 3-2 courtesy of Simone Zaza’s late strike but the game was about much more than the result. Slaven Bilic himself conceded that the match was not well timed – following our 3-0 victory over NK Domzale on Thursday night to progress in the Europa League.

A combination of fatigue from Thursday and a general lack of full match fitness meant that a number of youngsters were given a chance to shine against some high-quality players. Peripheral squad players would have been desperate to stake a claim for a first team spot and impress Bilic with their opportunity to play against the Serie A winners in front of 54,000 people live on BT Sport.

Here is how we rated the youngsters that got some game time.
