Charlie Taylor skips meeting with Leeds to force move

Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor and his agent missed a meeting with the club in order to make a statement about securing a move away from the club.

The defender handed in a transfer request earlier this summer and has stated that he will not sign a contract extension as he looks for a move away from Elland Road, with his current deal expiring next summer.

Liverpool, Manchester United, West Brom, West Ham, Burnley and Middlesbrough have all been linked with a move for the 22-year-old this summer.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino has been firm on his stance that he will not sell Taylor this summer and would rather him leave for free next summer in the case he does not sign a new contract, but if the player remains this adamant on leaving his hand may be forced.

Taylor has seen fellow academy graduates Sam Byram and Lewis Cook leave for West Ham and Bournemouth respectively in the last two transfer windows and is also eager to secure a big Premier League move.
