According to recent tweets from Goal and O Jogo journalist Bruno Andrade, West Ham are holding a firm interest in Palermo defender Achraf Lazaar.
It will be much to the relief of Hammers fans that Lazaar is indeed a left-back, following the now-apparent need to sign a new left-sided defender in the near future after Aaron Cresswell was ruled out for roughly four months.
The tweets claim that Palermo want a fee as low as €4 million for Lazaar; a price that shouldn’t be too much for West Ham to need to consider.

However, Andrade also claims that French side Lyon are looking to sign the defender, as they have submitted a €2 million bid for his services.
The tweets state that Palermo won’t budge on their valuation for Lazaar but West Ham will still look to test the water with a speculative €3 million bid for the left-back.
The 24-year-old Moroccan burst onto the scene with Palermo last season and enjoyed a good campaign on a personal note.
