West Brom agree fee with West Ham for Diafra Sakho

West Brom have agreed a fee in the region of £16m with West Ham for striker Diafra Sakho, according to Sky Sports.

Sakho’s future at West Ham (or lack of it) have been made pretty clear in the last few weeks after he handed in a transfer request and refused to travel with the squad for their pre-season tour of Austria in order to force a move.

It’s believed that Sakho in unhappy with the club’s public chase of a top striker this summer believing he is more than capable of doing the job but he’s failed to do so during his two seasons in English football.

Just five goals last season in an injury-hit campaign illustrated to us all that Sakho was not reliable enough to be the lead man for the Hammers going forward.

A £16m deal with West Brom has been agreed which breaks their transfer record set last summer when they signed Salomon Rondon from Zenit St. Petersburg in a £12m deal.

Sakho will now hold talks with West Brom over a move. Sunderland and Crystal Palace have also been heavily linked with a move for the Senegal international striker but neither side have matched West Ham’s asking price.
