According to Calcio Mercato, Roma are readying a bid to sign Angelo Ogbonna from West Ham.
They are willing to offer a loan deal, with an option to buy at the end of the season. The Serie A giants are hoping that they can convince West Ham to agree to the deal, having been previously rebuffed with a loan offer.
Roma are looking to strengthen their defence this summer and see Ogbonna as the ideal candidate. He already has Serie A experience, having played for Torino and Juventus in the Italian top-flight.
Ogbonna only signed for West Ham last summer, joining from Juventus for €11m. He played 28 Premier League matches for the Hammers last season, producing a number of solid displays at the heart of the defence.
This has attracted the interest of Roma, with the 28-year-old being very high on their wishlist this summer.
It is unknown as to how open West Ham would be to this new offer.
