West Ham are lining up a move for highly-rated Bayer Leverkusen left-back Wendell, according to Italian source TMW.
The Hammers were rocked with the news last week that incumbent left-back Aaron Cresswell is set for a four-month spell on the sidelines thanks to a knee ligament injury sustained in a 3-0 win over Karlsruher.
Without a first-team replacement ready and their season effective starting tomorrow with their Europa League third qualifying round first-leg fixture against NK Domzale, West Ham are pushing ahead with signing a stand-in for the Englishman.

One of the players on their radar is Brazilian fullback Wendell who has enjoyed two great seasons with Bayer Leverkusen following his £5.5m move from Gremio in the summer of 2014.
The 23-year-old is not being considered for sale by Leverkusen who have Wendell tied down until the summer of 2019 but West Ham could test their resolve with a bid in the coming days.
