Carlos Bacca has edged closer to a move to West Ham after Sevilla’s Sporting Director, Monchi, has dismissed claims his side are readying a move for the AC Milan striker.
Here’s where we stand: West Ham have had a bid accepted for Carlos Bacca by AC Milan, believed to be in the region of £25.6m.
A four-year contract is on the table, worth £90,000-a-week plus bonuses, which Bacca and his representatives are reviewing and West Ham expect an answer by the end of today on whether Bacca will be joining the club.
It’s well-known that Bacca has been holding out for a move to a Champions League club. Talks have been held with PSG and Atletico Madrid, but both clubs have ruled out a move for the Colombian.

Recently, the 29-year-old’s former club Sevilla have been linked with re-signing Bacca should they sell star striker Kevin Gameiro, who is believed to be on his way to Atletico Madrid.
However, Monchi has stated today that Sevilla will not be signing Carlos Bacca as they have filled their quota of foreign players in their squad, while adding Bacca probably has other options than a return to Spain.
We have three foreigners in the team, so there is nothing more to say. In addition, Carlos will have more interesting options.
The arrival of Ganso from Sao Paolo this week has taken Sevilla’s non-EU player count to three (along with Hiroshi Kiyotake and Mariano), meaning the Colombian Carlos Bacca cannot be registered for the club unless they sell one of their existing non-EU players, which is not in Monchi’s plans.
