West Ham linked with move for Borja Baston

West Ham are considering a move for Atletico Madrid striker Borja Baston this summer, according to Sundul.

After being turned down by Michy Batshuayi, Alexandre Lacazette and now possibly Carlos Bacca too, the Hammers have had to create a fresh shortlist of possible striker signings.

One of the players on that shortlist is Atletico Madrid’s Borja Baston. Also wanted by West Brom, Atletico are willing to sell the striker this summer for £12.5m.

The 23-year-old has only made one career appearance for Atletico despite being with the club his entire career, but has made a name for himself in Spanish football with impressive loan spells.

Baston spent the 2014/15 season with Liga Adelante side Real Zaragoza and scored 22 goals in 40 appearances which he hoped would propel him into the Atletico first team.

However, the likes of Fernando Torres, Antoine Griezmann and Luciano Vietto in the first-team, Baston was again sent out on loan, this time to La Liga side Eibar where he again impressed, finding the net on 19 occasions in 39 games.

The Spaniard has proven himself to be a prolific goalscorer in his homeland, and perhaps he could be the answer to West Ham’s striker crisis.
