West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United battle for Duda

West Ham have joined Manchester United and Arsenal in the race to sign highly-rated Slovakian midfielder Ondrej Duda, according to German source Bild.

Duda is currently playing for Polish side Legia Warsaw and was a relative unknown before his eye-catching performances at Euro 2016 alerted several high-profile Premier League teams.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder scored Slovakia’s opening goal of the tournament, an equaliser in the 2-1 defeat to Wales but was then on the radar of many tournament scouts, including those of West Ham, Arsenal and Manchester United who all had eyes on him during their 0-0 draw with England.

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin have opened talks with Legia Warsaw over Duda’s transfer but will need to move fast if they wish to beat the Premier League trio to his signature.

Despite these transfer links, Duda featured in Legia Warsaw’s Champions League qualifier against Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar this past week after an impressive season at club level, scoring five times and assisting in nine strikes in 43 appearances across all competitions.
