According to a report from the Daily Mail, West Ham have turned down the opportunity to sign Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie.
West Ham have been continuing their striker search in recent days, with plenty of names being touted for a move to the Olympic Stadium this summer.
However, it has now been reported that The Hammers had a chance to sign the former Arsenal and Manchester United striker from the Turkish giants as they are prepared to sell the 32-year-old this window.
The Daily Mail’s report claims that van Persie was willing to take a sizable pay cut to join Slaven Bilic’s men this summer, however, the club are not going to pursue the Netherlands forward and will move on to other targets.

Although the experienced marksman was willing to slash his wages by a considerable amount, it has been reported that he would have still left a heavy mark on the wage bill at the club, with a wage of around £100,000 per week being mentioned.
Premier League newcomers Middlesbrough are another side mentioned and linked with van Persie, however, the report suggests that the Dutchman was more than keen on a move to East London this summer.
Van Persie bagged 14 goals in 29 Super Lig appearances in his first season with Fenerbahce last season.
