West Brom keen on £15m Diafra Sakho deal

West Brom are in talks with West Ham over a deal for striker Diafra Sakho, according to the Express and Star.

The Senegalese international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Hammers this summer due to his frustrations over a lack of playing time last season, resulting in a very public falling out with manager Slaven Bilic and the coaching staff.

Sakho returned for first-team training last week but did not travel with the rest of the squad to Seattle for the start of their pre-season tour of the USA because of an apparent illness, which then became a back injury. The stories write themselves that perhaps Sakho has remained in England to seek a move.

West Ham have already rejected two bids from Sunderland for Diafra Sakho, the latest in the region of £12m with Sam Allardyce eager to bring the striker to the North East, two years after he initially brought him to the Premier League in a £4m deal from FC Metz.

The Hammer reportedly value Sakho at £15m despite the 26-year-old only netting seven times in 24 appearances in an injury-hit campaign last season. In his first season in English football, Sakho scored 12 times in 26 games.

Sakho isn’t the only Hammers striker near the exit door. Enner Valencia has agreed to a move to Lazio on an initial season-long loan which will be made permanent next summer for around £10m. The Serie A side will pay the Hammers £2m to take Valencia on loan.
