Jack Sullivan, son of West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, has confirmed on twitter that West Ham had a bid accepted by Marseille yesterday for Michy Batshuayi, but the striker has opted for another Premier League move.
Twitter: We bid 39m euro Batshuayi and it was accepted yesterday by his club, but he chose another PL club ahead of us, Chelsea ? (@jsullivanwhu)
It was thought that West Ham upped their bid to €39million yesterday, while Spurs also improved their initial offer, but it was too little too late. Chelsea have agreed to pay €40million for Batshuayi and a transfer should be concluded in the coming days.

Of the €40million, Marseille receive just €28million due to an agreement with Standard Liege made when Batshuayi first arrived. The Belgian outfit will pocket €12million as part of their sell-on clause.
Batshuayi had been West Ham’s top target throughout the summer but he will not be making the move to East London this summer.
