West Ham have been dealt a potentially crushing blow in their attempts to sign Alexandre Lacazette this summer after Lyon club president Jean-Michel Aulas stated that the striker will remain at the club this summer.
Quoted by French source Le10Sport, Aulas was asked about the future of Lacazette as well as their impressive midfielder Corentin Tolisso who has been linked with Arsenal, but says both will stay put.
I do not know. Corentin will be here next season. You can write to sell paper. Alexander also will be there. There is no doubt in my mind.
However, Aulas did concede that at the end of the day it’s the players who will decide their future.
But it is the players who decide at some point.
West Ham’s chase of Lacazette has been on-going for some time now. The Hammers have seen two bids turned down for the striker, the latest being worth €40m with the Ligue 1 side valuing their star striker at nearer €50, or £40m to you and I.

Lacazette netted 23 times last season for Lyon, the third straight season he topped 20 goals in Ligue 1 making him the ideal target for the Hammers who are desperately seeking a 20-goal-a-season forward.
The French international remains West Ham’s number one target this summer, but it remains to be seen whether a deal for the 24-year-old will ever be reached. He is also wanted by reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG.
