Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche has confirmed West Brom are in discussions over a deal to sign playmaker Franco Vazquez, who has also been linked with West Ham, AC Milan, Roma, Fiorentina and Tottenham this summer.
According to Italian source Ilsole24ore.com, Palermo have slapped a €25m asking price on Vazquez after a stunning season in Serie A scoring eight goals and recording six assists from attacking midfield.
Palermo have already turned down one offer of €15m this summer from West Brom, stating that they will not sell Vazquez for a penny less than their asking price.
West Ham and Tottenham have also registered interest in signing the 27-year-old this summer who has won two caps for Italy after switching allegiance from Argentina where he was born.

However they face a battle from Serie A trio AC Milan, Roma and Fiorentina who all wish to sign the attacking midfielder and keep him in Italian football.
Micciche has issued a statement confirming the club are in talks to sell Vazquez and that the player has signalled his intent in moving abroad.
Our sporting director, [Rino] Foschi informed us that he’s in talks with some English clubs regarding Franco Vazquez, I think WBA are among those.
The discussions are moving forward. The president [Maurizio Zamparini] has established a price which is, in our view, appropriate for the player’s value.
The more plausible idea is a sale abroad, because it’s hard for someone in Italy to meet Palermo’s demands.
Milan? I can confirm that there were talks with Milan, but the phase Milan are going through [negotiations for a sale] is slowing things down and could be a deterrent.
Vazquez is aware of the possibility of a move to the Premier League, and has given his availability for a transfer abroad.
