West Ham offer big contract to Sandro Ramirez

West Ham have made an offer to free agent striker Sandro Ramirez following his release from Barcelona but face a battle with Galatasaray, Besiktas and Malaga for his signature.

It was reported earlier this month that the Hammers had enquired into the availability of the striker this transfer window, but after talks with the club’s hierarchy, Sandro will be granted a free transfer.

He was under contract for another season and had an option to extend that by an extra year, but Barcelona declined the option and are willing to release the Spaniard.

According to Spanish source La Opinion de Malaga, the Hammers will battle La Liga side Malaga for the 20-year-old’s signature. However, the Hammers hold the upper hand as they can put ‘a lot of zeros’ on the offer, implying they have a greater financial strength.

Soon to turn 21, Sandro’s promising Barcelona career hasn’t panned out as he had hoped, scoring just three goals in over 800 minutes of action last season and with places in the match-day squad highly contested, it’s best for Sandro to move on.

Galatasaray have also reportedly made an offer to sign the striker this summer, while Besiktas are also keen.

Sandro Ramirez has also been linked with the likes of Tottenham, Everton, Crystal Palace and Swansea in recent times, say Sport Witness.
