Man City lead West Ham in Nolito race

Manchester City are said to be closing in on the signing of West Ham target Nolito from Celta Vigo this summer.

According to Moiceleste, the Spanish international forward, who has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in recent times, will team up with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season.

It had been claimed that Slaven Bilic and West Ham were preparing an £8m move for the 29-year-old winger who scored 12 goals in La Liga last term, but it appears Manchester City have moved ahead of the Hammers.

Nolito has a well-know release clause set at €18m, but with just one-year left to run on his contract with Celta Vigo it had been reported that the La Liga outfit may be looking to cash-in on the ageing attacker.

The winger started for Spain today as they beat the Czech Republic 1-0 in their Euro 2016 opener, but has remained coy over his future.

I remain relaxed and am only thinking about the European Championship finals, I don´t usually read what is said about me so I can then concentrate on other things, yet I neither dislike or like reports of a move to Barcelona. That said, I´m happy at Celta and have a three-year contract which contains a buy-out clause. Whichever club is interested in me, they know what to do. Even so, I´m really enjoying my time here.

Nolito isn’t the only winger West Ham are after, as they look set to complete the signing of free agent Sofiane Feghouli this week and a deal to bring in Gokhan Tore from Besiktas is becoming more likely by the day.
