West Ham have agreed a deal to sign Valencia youngster Toni Martinez in the summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish Radio station Radio Taronja are reporting that the Hammers have agreed to pay €2.5milllion, plus potential add-ons to take the striker from the Mestalla.

Valencia have reportedly insisted on putting a buy-back clause in the terms of the deal, in case Martinez has success in England.

The 18-year-old, who goes by the nickname ‘El Niño’, only signed a three-year contract extension last season, but a lack of game time for the club’s reserve side, Valencia Mestalla, left him looking for a move, and it appears that West Ham’s scouting network has identified him as a hot prospect who is worth bringing to the club as they prepare for their first season at the new Olympic Stadium.

The young striker played on English soil in late February in the Uefa Youth League last 16 tie against Chelsea.
