Slaven Bilic has revealed that West Ham pursued Everton winger Kevin Mirallas before the striker extended his contract with The Toffees.
This failed pursuit represents another significant stand that Everton took against clubs attempting to syphon off some of their best talent and Bilic hardly seemed bitter about this failed pursuit.
Chelsea did everything they could do to try to sign John Stones in the summer but Everton refused to do business with them. That takes guts.
We also had an interest in Kevin Mirallas but we were not able to get him.

The revelation that they tried to sign the Belgian international shows the intent that West Ham had in the summer, and although the deal did not go through, Hammers fans will likely be happy to see the club pursuing high-class players.
Everton have only lost once to West Ham since 2007, which was in an FA Cup tie that the Hammers won on penalties. During that stretch, the Toffees have amassed 11 wins and five draws against the London side. They will look to extend their run this Saturday at Upton Park in a 3pm kickoff local time, so Slaven Bilic’s men will need to play well if they want to put the Watford loss behind them by taking three points against Roberto Martinez’s men
