Defender target would rather train with the reserves than join West Ham

It is being reported by Belgian newspaper HLN that West Ham target Anthony Vanden Borre is unwilling to leave his current club Anderlecht and he is even willing to train with the reserves for three years to avoid a move away.

The former Portsmouth midfielder has caused quite a stir at the Belgian giants, the chairman of the club called the current saga ‘dark days’ as it has completely dominated the Belgian sports media in recent weeks. The club are reportedly keen to cash in on him but he has no intention of leaving.

West Ham are looking for midfield reinforcements and he fits the bill as he is a powerful player who can also play well on the ball, Bilic had supposedly lined him up as a priority target.

He has reportedly fallen out with the management over match tactics and squad management, so a mutual termination could happen sometime in the future.

However, for now, it is clear he has no intention of leaving Anderlecht and the Hammers will have to look elsewhere for reinforcements.
