Nuno sends powerful West Ham message before new season

Nuno Espírito Santo has told West Ham United supporters that restoring pride and strengthening the club’s identity will sit at the centre of the new season.

The head coach thanked the Claret and Blue Army for its continued backing before outlining the standards expected from his players.

Nuno said West Ham have worked hard to take the club back “to where it belongs”. He also stressed the importance of protecting an identity built around its history, traditions and values.

The Portuguese coach promised supporters that anyone wearing the West Ham shirt will need to show complete commitment.

“Whenever our players pull on this shirt, we will ask them to give everything,” Nuno said.

“Hard work, commitment, sacrifice and togetherness. We are one family, united by the same passion for this football club.”

West Ham begin their Championship campaign against Burnley on 16 August. ReadWestHam has already examined how the club’s promotion hopes depend on a successful rebuild following relegation.

Nuno West Ham message sets clear standards

Nuno’s comments place responsibility on the players before a demanding 46-game campaign.

West Ham will enter the season with one of the division’s largest supporter bases. However, reputation alone will not secure an immediate Premier League return.

The latest message follows Nuno’s earlier official West Ham interview, when he described promotion as a collective mission for the entire club.

His focus on effort and togetherness should appeal to supporters following a difficult relegation season. Fans will now expect those words to influence performances from the opening weekend.

Nuno added that he cannot wait to return to London Stadium and see it filled with Claret and Blue.

“Together, we will embrace the journey and the challenge ahead,” he said.

West Ham’s support remains firmly behind the team. Nuno and his players must now reward that loyalty with a side capable of challenging for promotion.
