West Ham United were handed one more shot at Premier League survival thanks to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.
The Blues did exactly what the Hammers needed, and beat Tottenham Hotspur to send it down to the final day. Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring for the Blues before Andrey Santos made it two-nothing.
Spurs would push back. Richarlison found the net at the back post and the Irons London rivals kept pushing. Substitutes helped them get on the front foot, but, much to West Ham’s happiness, could not find the equaliser.

Spurs loss now means that West Ham’s Premier League survival fight goes down the final day.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have to beat Leeds United at the London Stadium on Sunday to have any chance of staying up, it will then be down to to relying on Spurs result to go their way.
Tottenham play former Hammers boss David Moyes and Everton at home at the same point. Spurs only need a point to stay up, given the vast gap in goal difference. Despite the minimal task, Spurs have struggled at home and the Irons will hope for lighting to strike one more time.
It’s a long shot, but West Ham are still in the fight.
