  • West Ham play Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Friday night
  • The Hammers can get out of the bottom three with a win
  • The game kicks-off at 8PM BST

West Ham United return to Premier League action on Friday night, as they take on fellow strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers. A win in the matchup would see the Hammers out of the bottom three heading into Saturday’s fixtures.

Wolves have had a slow turnaround under Rob Edwards. Relegation may be almost a certainty but they are now playing with fight they did not have before. The midlands side head to the London Stadium hoping to drag West Ham further down with them.

Jarred Gillett will referee West Ham‘s game with Wolves on Friday night.

The 39-year-old was promoted the top group of referee’s in 2021 after moving from Australia and joining the second group in 2019.

Since then, Gillett has overseen over 150 game sin English football, taking charge of his first Premier League game in 2021, where Newcastle United drew 1-1 with Watford.

The Australian has officiated 18 top flight games this season as well as several in the FA Cup and EFL Cup.

This will be his ninth West Ham appointment and third this season, having overseen both games against Tottenham Hotspur.

Tom Wood and Wade Smith will assist Gillett in Friday night’s game. The pair previously covered the Hammers during the team’s home draw with AFC Bournemouth and away win over Fulham.

Wood has been in the top group since 2020 and has run the line at 145 Premier League games, with over 385 senior games in English football to his name.

Smith has been an assistant referee in the Premier League on 123 occasions, having been promoted to the league in 2021.

Tim Robinson will serve as the fourth official.

Robinson last took charge of West Ham in their defeat to Liverpool in February.

Neil Davies will oversee VAR duties as he has done in 67 previous Premier League fixtures. He will be assisted by Peter Bankes.
