West Ham United are going through their own struggles this season, as they fight to stay in the Premier League this season. Nuno Espirito Santo has his team improving though, with the Hammers looking to close the gap in their game against Fulham tonight.
The club have a number of youngsters out on-loan, but one has made an appearance for them this season. George Earthy spent last season with Bristol City, impressing as the club made the Championship playoffs. The 21-year-old returned to West Ham this season, playing eight minutes in the 1-0 loss to Fulham in December.
Earthy returned to the Robins in January, being a mainstay under Gerhard Struber as the team looks for another shot at promotion to the Premier League. Unfortunately for the midfielder, he know look’s set for a spell on the side lines.

The West Ham loanee missed the Robins FA Cup defeat to Port Vale last night, after having only played seven minutes in their 2-1 loss to Watford on Friday night.

Unfortunatley for Earthy, Bristol City boss Struber has confirmed that the player will be out for at least a couple of weeks with an ankle injury, he told Bristol Live:
“Yes, George Earthy has – again – something on the ankle, and he is injured.
“We have to look, maybe it’s not so bad. Maybe two [or] three weeks, after the international break, maybe he’s back.”
Earthy has made six appearances for Bristol City so far during this loan spell, five in the Championship, picking up one assist.
West Ham’s youthful pedrigree
Earthy is not the only youngster to have made an appearance for West Ham this season. The club have utilised a lot of their academy in what has been a tough year for the Hammers in the Premier League.
Freddie Potts, who will return from suspension after tonight’s game with Fulham, has been a main stay in Nuno’s team in 2026. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has feature 21 times for the Irons this season and will most likely have a chance to reclaim his place at the weekend.
20-year-old Ollie Scarles has also played significantly for West Ham this season, appearing in 14 matches for the club. The full-back played 83 minutes in the Hammers 1-0 FA Cup win over Burton Albion in the last round.
