West Ham are reportedly ‘interested’ in Zenit St Petersburg central defender Dejan Lovren.
The 32-year-old Croatian has been plying his trade in Russia since leaving Liverpool in 2020 for £10.9million (BBC).
At that time the UEFA Champions League winner was linked with a move to East London.

Now, amidst the ongoing situation in Ukraine, the experienced defender could be free to leave Zenit this season.
According to a report from Claret & Hugh, the Hammers would be keen on bringing Lovren to the London Stadium.
The report claims that the 70-cap ace is ‘being monitored’ as FIFPRO make it possible to sign players from Russia outside of the transfer window.
So far this season Lovren has played 19 times across all competitions for the current top-flight leaders.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT
Valued at £6.3million and under contract in 2023 (Transfermarkt), signing the Croatian for free on either a temporary or permanent basis would be a smart move.
Boasting a glittering career across spells in England, France and Croatia, adding Lovren to the current squad would give David Moyes’ options a huge boost.
Despite often being lambasted for less than assured performances, having amassed 450 club career games there is a certain level of quality and experience available for free.
As Kurt Zouma faces further punishment and Angelo Ogbonna attempts to recover from injury, Lovren is undoubtedly a wholly viable option.
