Former West Ham midfielder Trevor Sinclair has admitted he has been ‘surprised’ by the resurrection in form of Sebastien Haller.
The Ivorian left the Hammers last January and has been nothing short of sensational since arriving at Ajax.
Haller has scored 12 goals in 13 outings this season including a staggering six in three Champions League group games.
Speaking on talkSPORT (20/10/21 at 12:10 pm), Sinclair admitted Haller ‘struggled’ in claret and blue before praising the 27-year-old’s transformation in Holland.
He’s the top scorer in the Champions League now. He is on fire. He has scored 17 goals in 28 games for Ajax. He looks happy. Slight positional change, understanding his teammates and he has just landed in the right lane for him. And he’s hit the ground running. Confidence is a huge thing for his football. He has surprised me.
Haller scored 14 times in 54 appearances for the Hammers – often with an eye for a wondergoal.

Ultimately things just didn’t work out at the London Stadium for what seemed to be multiple reasons.
Often the subject of much conjecture when attempting to fill the vast boots of Michail Antonio, the powerful target man could never emulate the pressing nature of the Englishman.
Despite his exploits since leaving east London, David Moyes’ side hasn’t missed Haller and have themselves gone onto bigger and better things.
