West Ham have found out just how much a deal for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri could set them back – and the touted figure is not pretty reading for the Hammers.
According to Marca, Sevilla are seeking a figure in the region of €40m for the 23-year-old Moroccan international.
In a further sting to David Moyes’ side, Sevilla are not open to any sort of instalment payment structure or bonuses to be included in that fee. That means the Irons would be left scrambling to put down a significant lump sum up front to tempt the Spanish side into a sale.
The striker, who was signed from Leganes last winter, saw his release clause of £18m activated but has already been the subject of a formal bid little over a year into his Sevilla career. In that time, En-Nesyri has already won a continental competition in the Europa League and has amassed eight goals in just 17 La Liga appearances this season.
It has been claimed that, with another five years left on his current contract, Sevilla would look to double their money and are under no pressure to sanction a sale.
David Moyes recently confirmed that West Ham have indeed lodged a bid for En-Nesyri and other targets, saying:
He’s not the only one we’ve bid for. We’ve bid for others. We’ve really knocked on the door of three of four really good players which we think would have helped us if we’d got them.
We’ve not been able to do that but we’re trying to keep our business private if we can because we don’t want to speculate on which players we could be signing.
I’ve tried really hard to get something to add to it. But I’m having to caveat that by saying there’s a strong chance we don’t get anyone, which is the truth.

At the reported fee that Sevilla would like, a deal for En-Nesyri seems unlikely. West Ham will not want to increase the risk of expensive failure by forking out a large sum for the Sevilla forward.
Instead, Moyes should have a focus on cheaper options – even if that means missing out on any strikers.
