West Ham have been listed for a long time as a possible destination for Bournemouth’s Josh King as the striker looks to make a quick return to the Premier League.
Having suffered relegation last season with the south coast club, the Norweigan reluctantly remained a Bournemouth player during the summer despite rumours linking him with a switch to the London Stadium.
The 28-year-old, who has 48 Premier League goals to his name, is now believed to be attracting interest from a host of clubs. A report in the Birmingham Mail named King as a potential January target for Aston Villa, as well as claiming that Newcastle United will be in for the forward.
With 17 goals in 59 caps for Norway, the versatile forward has certainly cut it at a high level, although he has yet to find the net in five Championship appearances this term .
Recently, King proclaimed he still wants to leave the Cherries at a nearby juncture, saying: “It is a bit special to be a football player who has nine months left on his contract, we’ll see if I go now or in January.”

As David Moyes reportedly experiments with Issa Diop as a makeshift centre-forward, there has perhaps never been a more obvious ‘I need a new striker’ plea from a manager. Even before Michail Antonio’s latest injury setback, the Irons’ squad look bereft of goalscoring depth.
King offers an affordable solution with a proven track record of goals in the Premier League, as West Ham fans know all too well.
This is a potential deal which should be revisited in January as the player seemingly remains hell-bent on finding a way out of his current club despite their positive start towards making an instant top-flight return.
