One of Nuno Espirito Santo’s key January signing’s is set for a spell on the side-lines. Pablo Felipe joined alongside Taty Castellanos as the West Ham put on emphasis on strengthening up top in their battle for survival.
The 22-year-old Brazilian, who joined the Hammers from Gil Vicente in Portugal for £17.5m, is now expected to miss the next four to six weeks. The attacker is yet to add to the statistic’s board with the club, but has been an important player for Nuno Espirito’s side over the last two weeks.
Speaking after West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, Nuno acknowledged Pablo would miss some time.
“He’s injured, and he’s going to be out for a while, unfortunately,” Nuno said in his post-match press conference. “We don’t know for how long now.”
It has now been revealed, the 22-year-old will miss out on at least the next four weeks of action. The hope is Pablo will return after the Hammers FA Cup tie with Brentford, to be played on the 7th or 8th March.
Pablo’s influence so far
With Niklas Fullkrug on his way to Milan in January, a striker was at the top of the Hammers wish list. The German’s departure left West Ham with just one suitable central attacker, in the form of Callum Wilson.
Pablo, who has a strong friendship with midfielder Matheus Fernandes, was recommended to the club. The Brazilian also shares the same agent as Hammers boss, Nuno. At Gil Vicente, the Brazilian attacker had netted 10 goals in 13 appearances within the first-half of the season.

| Appearances | Goals | Assists |

Whilst the forward is yet to net for his new club, Pablo has contributed in a number of other ways so far. The 22-year-old has exceptional work rate alongside a frame that allows him to win a number of aerial duels to keep the ball up well.
Since Pablo arrived, West Ham won five of their nine games he was involved with. Not only has he helped the Hammers to victories, but the Brazilian has also helped other’s around him, with Taty Castellanos beginning to show his skill, along with Crysencio Summerville, who is in the best form of his West Ham career.
What games will Pablo miss?
Pablo’s injury is expected to keep him out for at least four weeks, with West Ham’s survival fight being at it’s height when he returns.
After not being involved for the side’s 1-0 FA Cup win over Burton Albion, Nuno will have to do without his attacker at least three Premier League games. West Ham host Bournemouth this weekend, before traveling to Liverpool seven days later.
A midweek game at London rivals Fulham follows, before the FA Cup clash with Brentford. It is hoped that Pablo can return in the following game, away at Manchester City, as the Hammers look to remain in the Premier League this season.
