West Ham have made an approach to Wigan Athletic for defender Cedric Kipre, according to a report from Adrian Kajumba of The Mail.
The 23-year-old has been an almost ever-present for the Latics this season and has been one of the better players for Paul Cook’s side, who have given themselves more than a fighting chance of staying in the Championship even if they are docked 12 points for going into administration.
Watford are also being linked with a move for the centre-back but it’s West Ham who have made the first move to sign him.
By going into administration, Wigan may be forced to sell some key members of their squad and it looks like West Ham are interested in taking Kipre from the Latics.

It looks like West Ham are interested in signing the French defender, with David Moyes looking like he wants to improve his defence, which has conceeded 59 Premier League goals already this season.
If the Hammers can get a result against Watford on Friday, then they should be able to start planning for another season of top-flight football and we absolutely recommend that defensive reinforcements are signed.
