West Ham signed Felipe Anderson for £38m in 2018, but the winger has failed to live up to that price tag so far.
There was much excitement amongst West Ham fans as the Brazilian international arrived at the club, fresh after impressing for Lazio in the Italian Serie A.
It looked like Manuel Pellegrini was building a team that could challenge for a European spot, but it ended up going so horribly wrong.
Anderson now looks like a player who is devoid of any sort of confidence, resulting in him even losing his starting spot recently.
Pablo Fornals has come in for Anderson, who has only managed to score 11 times for the club in 64 appearances in all competitions, making him worth £3.27m per goal scored (Transfermarkt).
So, is it time for the club to move him on?
Maybe. We feel that youngster Grady Diangana should be given a chance in the first-team in the future, especially with Anderson in such poor form.
Diangana has impressed during his loan spell with West Bromwich Albion, whilst Anderson has failed to grasp the opportunities handed to him multiple times this season.
Some fans are also running out of patience with the winger.
Some feel that he should leave, whilst others want him to stay for another season, but we feel that the team can’t afford to have passengers, especially when they’re involved in such intense relegation battles.
In our opinion, judging by his statistics, Anderson’s big-money move has been a failure and he needs to do something magical to turn his fortunes around.
