Hammers should pursue move for Seko Fofana

West Ham United failed in their attempts to sign Seko Fofana in the January transfer window but we believe they should still pursue him in the summer.

The former Manchester City midfielder has put in some impressive displays for Udinese this season and he is attracting some interest.

According to Calciomercato, Italian side Torino are lining up a summer move for Fofana but we believe that the Hammers should still look to sign him. The team desperately needs more midfield options.

Mark Noble is ageing and not performing too well at the moment, whilst Carlos Sanchez looks certain to leave and Jack Wilshere is very injury prone.

Tomas Soucek, meanwhile, is on loan and there’s no guarantee that he will make the permanent move to the London club.

So, signing Fofana could provide the team with a much-needed presence in midfield.

As stated on Whoscored, Fofana’s strengths are his passing and dribbling, which, if translated onto the pitch, could add value to the West Ham squad.

Furthermore, we feel that the Hammers should try to sign Fofana because he is still young. The 24-year-old has plenty of time to develop and get better.

This falls in line with David Moyes’ policy of targeting players 25 or under, so it may be an attractive deal for him.
