West Ham are reportedly eyeing up a summer move to sign West Brom star Matheus Pereira, who could be exactly what they need.
According to Football Insider, West Ham have been closely tracking Pereira and are interested in a deal for the attacking midfielder.
The report claims that West Brom are poised to sign him permanently for £8m from Sporting, at the end of his loan spell, but West Ham are still pursuing a possible swoop.

If the Hammers are able to bring Pereira over to the London Stadium, he could be the final piece needed in the club’s attacking jigsaw. West Ham have used a variety of formations in the Premier League this season, one of which has been the 4-2-3-1 – with three attacking players behind the main striker.
Sebastien Haller could lead the line for West Ham, with Jarrod Bowen on the right and Felipe Anderson on the left. This could then leave a gap in the number 10 role for Pereira to fill. He could slot in as the creative force through the middle and help link up the play between Bowen, Anderson and Haller in the final third.
Pereira has managed an impressive six goals and 12 assists in the Championship this term, creating 2.5 chances per game on average. This shows his quality as a creator, as well as his ability to chip in with goals too. His vision and creativity could be key to unlocking the potential of Bowen, Haller and Anderson, as well as help West Ham to offer more of an attacking threat in games.
