Harry Redknapp has revealed that he feels West Ham United could have had plenty of success if they kept their star players and many of the club’s fans have reacted to his comments.
The Hammers once had plenty of talented players at the club, including the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard and Jermain Defoe, who all went on to have hugely successful Premier League careers at other clubs.
Redknapp revealed on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast (11/03/2020) that he begged Ferdinand not to leave the club and that if the club managed to keep all their players together, they could have been a force in English football.
He also admitted that he took Andriy Shevchenko on trial at the London club but opted not to sign him because he was too expensive.
Some fans on Twitter totally agree with the former Hammers manager’s comments, others believe that he is the one to blame and some are just simply upset that it never worked out for the aforementioned stars at the club.
