Jarrod Bowen was limited to a bench appearance on Wednesday night, with West Ham going down 2-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

The ex-Hull City man was handed his debut from the bench, coming on for Robert Snodgrass with 10 minutes to go with the score at 2-0.

The winger was unable to do much during his brief appearance, only managing four passes during his 10 minutes on the pitch, as per Whoscored.

However, several West Ham fans were outraged that David Moyes did not start the midfielder, especially after his much-hyped £25 million arrivals from Hull on deadline day.

It’s fair to say that the performance of the whole side against Man City was pretty terrible, with West Ham only racking up 23% possession and failing to get a single shot on target throughout the entire 90 minutes.

However, even though it is unlikely that West Ham will secure a win at Anfield on Monday night, the game looks to be a good stage to give Bowen a chance to show what he can offer to the Hammers.

There will be little pressure on West Ham to get a result, meaning that he wilk free to simply show what he can bring to the table, rather than be burdened by the pressure of securing a win.

West Ham’s run doesn’t get any easier after Monday night, with plenty of tough games ahead, Therefore, I believe it is the best time for the winger to make his full debut for West Ham and get himself up to speed as quickly as possible.
