West Ham fans have been discussing whether or not selling midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate was a mistake, after a post by @westham_gossip on Twitter.
The Hammers sold Kouyate to Crystal Palace for £15 million back in 2018, after he made over 147 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals in the process.
Since then, Kouyate has been a key player for the Eagles, making over 61 appearances for Roy Hodgson’s side.
The midfielder originally joined the Hammers from Anderlecht in 2014 for a fee of around £6.5 million and has also been capped by his country of 57 times.
Several West Ham fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions about whether or not Kouyate should have been sold back in 2018.
Some fans believe that while it was not an error to sell him, West Ham never really replaced Kouyate, which was the true mistake.
