West Ham are set to be without Jack Wilshere for a longer period of time, with the 28-year set to undergo a hernia operation.
According to Football London’s Sam Inkersole, will have surgery today but there is no current timescale for his possible return.
Wilshere’s West Ham career has been hampered by injuries since he joined on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer of 2018.
The midfielder has made just 16 first-team appearances in the 18 months he’s spent at the London Stadium.

If it was down to me, I would get Wilshere off the wage bill as soon as possible because he’s simply not worth the £100,000-per-week he’s currently earning.
He made 27 appearances on loan at AFC Bournemouth in the 2017-18 season, almost double what he’s made in nearly two seasons in East London.
Realistically speaking, West Ham could be without Wilshere for the rest of the season and that’s as far as it should go, in my opinion.
I think, especially with the imminent arrival of Tomas Soucek, the former England international’s days at the club are limited.
Of course, injuries aren’t his fault but he’s earning a lot of money which could ultimately go towards the big rebuild under David Moyes.
