Shandong Luneng midfielder Marouane Fellaini has emerged as a transfer target for West Ham United boss David Moyes, according to a report from Sky Sports.
The Belgium international has worked under the new Hammers manager twice already in his career after stints at Everton and Manchester United.
However, following his departure from Old Trafford at the end of last season, he currently plies his trade in China with Shandong Luneng.
Fellaini, 32, could yet make a return to England, though, with Sky Sports indicating that Moyes is interested in reuniting with him for the third time.

It’s little surprise to see Fellaini’s future in China come into question following the confirmation that a wage cap has been introduced in the country’s top division.

As per Sky Sports, the experienced midfielder will need to take a 75 per cent pay cut if he is to stay put with Shandong Luneng, and West Ham could capitalise on the uncertainty surrounding his future.
The Hammers may be keen to strengthen their reinforcements in the middle of the park following a bleak first half of the season, which sees them languishing in 16th place on the Premier League table.
Fellaini’s experience could make him a useful option for Moyes. He has 260 top-flight appearances under his belt, so he is well-versed in knowing just what it takes to succeed in England.
However, it should be time now for West Ham to look forward, rather than backwards. At 32, Fellaini’s best years are behind him, and targeting options for the longer term – the club’s pursuit of Benfica star Gedson Fernandes is encouraging – should be the focus.
