David Moyes hadn’t even been West Ham United for a day before making a claim that should excite those fans who are still concerned about his arrival.
Following his interim stint as manager in the 2017-18 season, Moyes returns to the London Stadium on an 18-year contract.
Speaking to the official club website, cited by Team Talk, the Scotsman claimed his current squad is an upgrade on the one he inherited a couple of years ago:
I do believe that the squad of players I’ve got here is a better squad of players than when I took over before, so I am looking forward to working with them.

Moyes’ reign begins with the visit of fellow strugglers AFC Bournemouth on New Year’s Day to start an important month for the club.
He may believe his current squad is stronger than before but he’ll be very aware it can go a long way in being improved.
Next month provides a great opportunity to bring some of his players in whilst clearing some deadwood at the club.
It’ll be interesting to see the type of players he goes for as he looks to guide West Ham to Premier League safety.
