A host of Premier League clubs have joined West Ham in their pursuit of Shanghai Shenhua forward Odion Ighalo.
According to TeamTalk, Watford, Southampton, Newcastle and Everton are all also interested in the striker as they eye up swoops for him in the January transfer window.
The report claims that Shenhua would be willing to let him leave on loan, with the view to a permanent deal in the summer, despite him only joining in February.
READ WEST HAM VERDICT

It feels like West Ham have been down this road far too many times in recent years. Just look at the likes of Marouane Chamakh, Mladen Petric, Nikica Jelavic and Lucas Perez. West Ham have gone down the route of signing past-it Premier League strikers who have scored goals earlier in their career and it has not worked out, so this would be a step back from the Hammers.
If they are insistent on signing another striker to challenge Sebastien Haller, they should look for fresh talent with hunger and something to prove. Perhaps they could look into the lower leagues or less fancied top divisions across Europe in the hopes of finding a gem, rather than repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
