West Ham United are close to signing former Manchester United academy star Mipo Odubeko, according to a report on Talksport.
The youngster was released by the Red Devils after rejecting a new contract due to the club not being able to offer him a route into the first-team squad.
It is understood that the Hammers are close to securing his signature ahead of Italian giants Juventus and Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
The Hammers will need to pay United a compensation fee because of FA rules regarding young player transfers.
Is this a good deal for the player and the club?

Absolutely. Obudeko scored 35 goals during his time in the United ranks, which shows that he is a player who naturally knows where the net is.
United were also so keen on keeping him, which means that the young striker must have been doing something right.
So, if he carries on his form and continues to improve, he might be a bargain in future years.
