Atalanta are reportedly working on a new deal to extend Duvan Zapata’s stay at the club, as the Italian outfit look to ward off interest from Manchester United and West Ham.

According to Calciomercato, both clubs were interested in a deal over the summer, but the Serie A side managed to keep hold of their star man after he enjoyed a stunning season.

With Inter also admirers of the player, Atalanta want to extend his deal until 2024.

Zapata has started this season exactly where he left off last time around, scoring four league goals in five appearances.

West Ham were heavily linked with a number of strikers over the summer. They would eventually go on to sign Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt – who himself enjoyed a fantastic 2018/19 season.

The Hammers will feel happy with their purchase, with Haller hitting the ground running in the Premier League, scoring three goals in five games for his new club.
